Pleasantly surprised

As a Hilton Diamond member I was very pleasantly surprised at what this small & cosy hotel offered ,with the best breakfast we have had in Brazil! It's proximity to the historical centre made the walking distance very comfortable.Staff Really cared about us as individuals. Well done.

Very clean and safe Pousada with super friendly staff

I certainly enjoyed my stay at Pousada da Mangueira. I mostly would like to mention the staff that was really cheerful, friendly and helpful. Safety was great with 24 hour reception and a fenced door that needed to be opened by the receptionist upon leaving and entering. The Pousada possesses some nice gardens, a pool with a view of the Pelorinho district and an open air breakfast area. My room was no frills but clean and comfortable. The location is ideal for a short visit to Salvador, whilst the street being a little sketchy, it is still safe to walk to the historical center and thus very convenient.

The staff were great. In particular Felipe was exceptional, he gave excellent suggestions and advice on things to do and see, as well as restaurants etc. his advice, recommendations and suggestions were all delivered in such an easy to understand manner and his English was great

Wonderful

The location is excellent for enjoying Pelourinho, and the reception gives you all the main info you need. The view is fantastic, and given how packed houses are in the historicalcentre, this is a real luxury. The barman knows how to make a robust caipirinha!

Rooms are tiny, much tinier than expected. We booked a superior, but I did not notice any difference from the other rooms besides being on the second floor with a nicer view. Not a problem for us, but if you enjoy your bacon in the morning, that was not an option.

Amazing! loved staying in the hotel.. I didn’t want to go home :(

The manager of the hotel Gabriel was extremely helpful and always on hand to help! lovely guy and gives great restaurant recommendations! :-) The staff although spoke very little English were always on hand to help in any way that they could and very friendly! Breakdast was lovely! my friend and I always enjoyed breakfast and the freshly squeezed juices were amazing! Location is good.. you are a stones throw away from the main town in Pelourinho and not far from other areas in Salvador it’s easy to jump in an Uber and get to where you need to be

Whilst you are only over the road from Pelourinho it can be quite dangerous at night.. so just make sure you get an Uber..other than that no complaints

A very warm welcome awaits you

First and foremost the staff were wonderful especially Philip and his brother. They were really helpful with making arrangements both before and during our trip. They speak English which really helped us. The location is perfect for visiting the old town, only 5 minutes away. We enjoyed the pool after hot days sightseeing.. It was easy to get laundry done.

The rooms are old and basic, but as there are many other places in the hotel to relax we only slept there..

Great accommodation with fabulous staff!

Super friendly staff. Extremely helpful even at giving tips on where to go and how to get there (thank you Philip!). Pool open 24/7 with a beautiful view of Pelourinho. Very safe with reception attended 24/7 (Ignore Uber/taxi drivers claiming that this area is dangerous). 2 minutes walking distance from the lovely historical centre of Pelourinho.

Better sound proofing in the room could have been a good plus. But that's all I can think of :)

Staff are very kind and helpful. Only Gabriel spike english and he was very helpful. Rooms are good size, clean, reasinable breakfast and good location. Just 1 bloc away from main historical side and the famous square with shops and restaurants

You cannot open the shutter becaise the balcony does not lock.
